The Blood Atonement For Sins

Genesis 3:21
Now, friends, if you have your Bibles, turn with me to Genesis 3:21 and we are beginning a study of the wonderful truth of Sacrifice For Sin, or what Sacrifice means in the Bible, what the meaning of the Blood is, in the Bible, and the meaning of the Cross. We find that all through the Bible. Someone has well said that there are two threads that run through the Bible. One is the golden thread of the Coming of the Lord, and the other is the scarlet thread of the Blood Atonement, the fact that God says (as recorded in the New Testament) that without the shedding of blood there is NO FORGIVENESS of sins. Along with that passage, ''Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins,'' we have this wonderful statement in Leviticus 17:11, ''It is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.''
Let us take for our text then that wonderful statement in the Book of Hebrews, ''Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.'' It means that WITH the shedding of blood THERE IS forgiveness of sins. In other words, God cannot forgive our sins unless there is shedding of blood. This is not an isolated truth. ALL THROUGH the Bible we find the wonderful fact that BLOOD CLEANSES FROM SIN.
In the Book of Genesis, chapter 3, verse 21, we read these words: ''Unto Adam and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.''
Adam and Eve had been created by God. In Genesis 1 we have ''God.'' In Genesis 2 we have ''God and man.'' Everything is wonderful, no sin, no sorrow, no tears, no heartaches, no death, no suffering. Then, the devil comes on the scene and tempts Adam and Eve to turn their backs on God and obey him, and the result was that they obeyed the devil rather than God. SIN is lawlessness, refusal to comply with God's laws. SIN came into the world. Immediately, CONSCIENCE was awakened and they fled from the Presence of their Great ...
