HOW TO BE A TRULY HAPPY PERSON
Jesse M. Hendley
John 14:27
I am thinking now of a friend who, when he was first
converted, worried much about whether or not he could
be lost. He thought that maybe he might slip out of
the Lord's Hand. But, you know, it is wonderful, the
peace the Lord gives when we read His Word. Jesus says
in the Gospel of John, chapter 10, to those who
BELIEVE on Him, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know
them, and they follow me, and I give unto them eternal
life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any
man pluck them out of my hand. My Father which gave
them me is greater than all, and no man is able to
pluck them out of my Father's hand."
If you will notice in your King James Version, the
word man is in italics, which means that it is not in
the original Greek text. Our Lord literally said,
"Neither shall ANY pluck them out of my hand." --- "My
Father is greater than all and NO ONE is able to pluck
them out of my Father's Hand." If we believe on the
Lord Jesus, we are SECURE.
Now we want to study the word PEACE.
Jesus Christ said, before He left this earth, to His
disciples before He went to the Cross, "Peace I leave
with you. My peace I give unto you. Not as the world
giveth give I unto you, let not your heart be
troubled. Neither let it be afraid."
"My peace I give unto you." Jesus means that. It is
found in John 14:27. Jesus said, "Let not your heart
be troubled." Do not let it be afraid. FEAR is a
characteristic of the human heart, but the Lord gives
marvelous peace.
I want to speak to you on the truly happy person, the
person who has truly lasting peace. A truly happy
person is one who is TRUSTING. A truly happy person is
one who is CASTING all his care upon the Lord, PRAYING
and COMMITTING everything to Him, satisfied with His
leadership, and SERVING. I want to use those five
words.
Trusting
