THE MARRIAGE SUPPER
Jesse M. Hendley
Revelation 19
In the 19th chapter of Revelation, we read these
wonderful words: "I heard a great voice of much people
in heaven, saying, Alleluia. Salvation, and glory, and
honour, and power, unto the Lord our God."
This is a heavenly scene. Many people are in heaven.
They are singing "Alleluia" which means, "Praise ye
the Lord!" They are praising the Lord for His
JUDGMENTS.
Verse 2: "True and righteous are His judgments, for He
hath judged the great harlot which did corrupt the
earth with her fornication and hath avenged the blood
of His servants at her hand." They are praising the
Lord for His judgments upon false religious teachers
and systems that persecute the true people of God.
They are praising Him because God is going to avenge
His servants who have suffered at the hands of such
false teachers.
Verse 3: "And again they said, Alleluia (Praise ye the
Lord). And her smoke rose up forever and ever. And the
four and twenty elders, and the four living creatures,
fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne,
saying, Amen (Be it so). Alleluia."
Notice, up in heaven they thank God for His judgments!
Why?
Because THEY THINK AS GOD THINKS. They know that God
is going to clean up this world of all sin and sinners
who rebel against Him and do not love Him. They know
that those who refuse God are a hindrance to the whole
human race. Some people think it makes little
difference whether they live for the Lord or not. But
every life that is not lived for God is a detriment to
God and to the human race.
"And a voice came out of the throne saying, Praise our
God, all ye His servants, and they that fear Him, both
small and great." Praise to God! When you come to know
the Lord, you will praise Him. You will realize He is
the greatest thing in your life!
"And I heard as it were the voice of a great
multitude, and as the voice of many waters and as t ...
