DO YOU WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN?

If you were to stand out on the street and ask
everyone who passed by, "Do you want to go to heaven?"
probably most of them would say, "Yes," if they were
honest. There would be some embarrassment of course,
because most people do not talk much about heaven.
There would be some smart-alecs, I imagine. There
would also be some who would laugh at you for the
question you asked.

But I want you to think today about "Heaven." It is
wonderful to know that there is a Heaven! It is
wonderful to know that we are going there. The Word of
God teaches without a shadow of a doubt that there is
a Heaven. If you believe the Bible, you believe in
Heaven. God's word teaches that it is the most
wonderful place that man can ever think about.

What Jesus Taught

Our Lord Jesus Christ said one time, "Lay not up for
yourselves treasures on earth, but lay up for
yourselves treasures in Heaven, where moth and rust
doth not corrupt where thieves do not break through
and steal." Ah, friends, today how many of us ARE
laying up treasure in heaven? How many of us are
laying up treasures on this earth, that which is
passing away, and forgetting the gold we ought to be
laying up in the skies?

On one occasion Jesus warned some men who were money
lovers. He told them of a rich man who was thinking
only of his big crop coming on. The man said, "What
shall I do? Already my barns are bursting with plenty.
I'll build larger barns! I'll fill them with this
provision. I'll have much goods laid up for many
years. I can say to my soul, `My soul, take it easy.
Eat; drink; be merry.' But GOD said, "Thou fool,
TONIGHT shall thy soul be required of thee. Then whose
shall these things be, which thou hast provided?"
Jesus sums it up saying, "Thus is everyone who is not
rich TOWARD GOD." RICH, in the things of this world,
but not rich, toward God! Jesus said to lay up
