REDEMPTION THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST

Turn with me in your Bibles, please, to Exodus
12:13. This is our text, "And the blood shall
be to you for a token upon the houses where
you are. When I see the blood I will pass over
you, and the plague shall not be upon you to
destroy you when 1 smite the land of Egypt."
That sacred token means the salvation of
souls.

Now here in Exodus we have the account of the
Redemption of Israel out of Egypt. Chapters 12
and 13 describe the Great Passover. It
outlines unmistakably the truth that
REDEMPTION IS BY BLOOD, the Blood of God's
appointed Lamb. Here is the Gospel preached so
clearly that no one can miss it. In chapters 7
through 11 we read that Pharaoh has refused
his opportunities that God gave him in the
face of nine horrible judgments for
disobedience to God. The tenth judgment is now
coming up. It is to be the death of all the
first-born, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that
sits upon the throne to the first-born of the
maid-servant that is behind the mill.

That is the Word of God. Death is coming. That
is a type of the world we are living in today.
This world is under the sentence of
condemnation because of sin, because of
rebellion, because of disobedience to God.
This world is under judgment. The Bible speaks
of the wrath to come. The Bible speaks of the
Day of the Lord when He shall pour out His
wrath upon a world that has rejected Him and
turned its back upon Him. Egypt was a type of
the world under the judgment of God.

Now let me call your attention to this fact:
all were to die, Israelites as well as
Egyptians, for we read that ALL of the
first-born in the land of Egypt shall die.
None shall be excepted. Now this sentence of
death was passed, and all first-born were
condemned. This description of the condition
