"The Great Physician" is the theme for this message.
The GREAT Physician! How wonderful it is to know a
Physician, friends, who never loses a case! A
Physician who knows every disease and everything that
causes it; a Physician who cures; a Physician who is
strong enough to take care of us.

You know, there is a great passage that has been a
blessing to those who have been afflicted over the
years. It is found in Exodus 15, verse 26. "I am the
Lord that healeth thee." That is an interesting
passage. Let me read it to you now and we will see the
context and understand it. God says to His people, "If
thou wilt diligently harken to the voice of the Lord
thy God and wilt do that which is right in His sight,
and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all
His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon
thee which I have brought upon the Egyptians, for I am
the Lord that healeth thee." Israel was going through
the wilderness, and God speaks of diseases that He put
upon the Egyptians.

You say, "Is God the Author of disease?" He is, as a
punishment, and here it is a punishment upon the
Egyptians. "Why?" Well, if you knew about the sins of
Egypt of that day (and you can study it in your
history books) you wouldn't wonder why God put
diseases upon the Egyptians. Everywhere were giant
temples filled with their gods. They had all sorts of
worship of stones, and everything under the sun. They
had a religion, but it wasn't the worship of the true
and living God. There was trouble. There was distress.
God brought diseases upon the Egyptians trying to get
them to see Him, the only true God, that He might
bless them, but they wouldn't do it, and God brought
diseases upon them. They would not obey Him and seek
His face.

Now God says to His own people, "If thou wilt
diligently hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy
God," you can count ...
