WIFE, YOU CAN WIN YOUR HUSBAND TO CHRIST
Jesse M. Hendley
Matthew 22:37
Ephesians 5:25
Genesis 2:24
Today I had a telephone call from a lady about a
broken home. It is one of those homes where the wife
is walking with the Lord Jesus and the husband is not.
Sometimes you find the opposite. It is possible for a
person to win the loved one, the life companion, to
Christ!
This lady said that a long time ago she made a
mistake. How wonderful it is that our Lord forgives
our mistakes. Let me say this to you lovingly. No
Christian girl has any right to put herself in a
position to fall in love with a boy who is not a
Christian. This lady said that after twelve years of
married life their home is broken, eight years of that
time spent in unhappiness. Things have been dragging,
dragging, dragging, and now she is facing a breakdown
or separation from her husband.
It is a terrible heartache. It is one of those
intimate things that hurt so much. When one party
leaves, and then a settlement has to be made, what a
tragic moment in one's life. This lady cried over the
phone. She said, "You know, l don't want a broken
home." But the truth is that her home is already
broken. The home is broken when the affection for one
another ceases, and affection is sought elsewhere.
Idealism is wonderful, friends, but the Word of God
helps us to face things realistically. We must face
things realistically. May God help this precious soul
to have victory.
This situation has led me to this message. I've seen
cases like this for years and have thought much about
it. And I want to say to Christian wives who have
unsaved husbands, "Wife, you can win your husband to
Christ." Many of you can, without a shadow of doubt.
If your husband loves you, you are nearer to his heart
than anyone else, and you can win him.
There are so many homes that are miserable. I was in a
home not long ago, in a southern Florida town. In that ...
