1. And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband's, a mighty man of
wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name [was] Boaz.

As I said in the introduction, this is a love story in the truest sense
of the world. There is no filthiness manifest here, no sexual
immorality that many fools mistake for love. This is the story of love,
not only love of a man for a woman, but the story of God's love
allowing the Gentiles into the lineage of Christ. We also must
understand throughout the entire narrative the sovereignty of God.
God is in control here and we will see that clearly throughout the
book. We are introduced to one of the main principles here, Boaz, a
wealthy man who was related to Elimilech, who was Naomi's
former husband. Not only was he wealthy but he was a mighty man
of valor. He had dignity and virtue. Remember this point now
because I am going to repeat it throughout this study. A man of
virtue wants a woman of the same. Any male can get a female by
many means without regard to character or virtue on both parties,
but a man of dignity, a man of character, a man who is Godly, will
want the same for himself and will do whatever it takes to get a
Godly wife.

2 And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the
field, and glean ears of corn after [him] in whose sight I shall find
grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.

It seems to me that Ruth didn't waste time assimilating herself into
the culture of the Jews that she now embraced as her people. So
she goes into the field to glean the remains that were left for the
poor. Notice that she didn't do anything until she asked her mother.
You know something Godly daughters, Godly mothers are not here
by accident. They still need your respect. Ruth says, whomever
sight I find grace in will let me glean. Mom said, go ahead.

3 And she went, and came, and gleaned in the fie ...
