Hey, welcome to Mission Hills. Whether you're joining us online or in person, we're just so honored to have you with us today. As we begin a series, it's really a setup for our celebration of the birth of Jesus this Christmas Eve. And to do that, we're actually gonna spend the next several weeks doing a deep dive into a part of the Christmas story that honestly usually doesn't get a lot of attention.

So just as you get ready for the next several weeks, we're gonna be looking at the genealogy of Jesus and all God's people went. Amen. Okay. It's actually a really important part of the Christmas story and honestly, I don't know that we are gonna fully understand how significant the birth of Jesus is if we don't understand the family that.

God brought him to us through. And so for the next couple weeks, we're gonna do a deep dive into the genealogy of Jesus. And so I thought we'd start today by actually reading through the genealogy. We're gonna be looking at the one in Matthew, so if you wanna open your Bible to Matthew chapter one. We're gonna look at the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew one.

And I was gonna read it, but then I thought rather than read it, let's sing it.

Danny and I actually have a mutual friend Andrew Peterson, a great songwriter out in Nashville, and I think on a dare, I think it was a dare somebody dare he actually put this to song. And so I asked Danny to come out and to sing it. But if you have your Bible, I'd love for you to follow through you.
