Hey, mission Hills. I am really excited to bring a message to you today about this incredibly powerful thing that you can put into your life that, honestly, if you're anything like me, it's not present in your life to the degree that it could or should be. And specifically I'm talking about gratitude.
And one of things I've figured out about gratitude over the years is that gratitude isn't just the right response to what God has done. It's actually a strategic choice, and that choosing to live with gratitude actually allows us to experience a whole lot of incredibly powerful things. It allows us to, to honestly find ourselves set free from some stuff.
It allows our eyes to be open to the reality of what God is doing around us. And maybe more importantly and most excitingly, it allows us to be part of something that God is doing that otherwise we wouldn't have a place in. It's an incredibly powerful thing. I'm really excited to share it with you today.
So why don't you go ahead and grab a Bible. Let's jump right in. We're gonna be in Mark chapter one. Sorry. Mark chapter 14, starting in verse one, mark 14, one, which says, now the Passover and the festival of Unleavened Bread were only two weeks away. And the chief priest and the teachers of the law were scheming to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.
Now if you're familiar with church, that's not a big surprise. If you're maybe new to church, the idea that the religious leaders wanted to kill Jesus might seem like an odd thing, right? Who could want to take out Jesus? Isn't he like the kindest, most loving man that's ever walked the face of the earth?
Yes, but that's the interesting thing, like people hated Jesus too. And I don't know about you, but sometimes that's good news. 'cause I find that not everybody thinks I'm the best thing since sliced bread. And so I sometimes I take comfort i ...
