So I wanna talk to you today about the power and the price of faith. I think as Christians, we talk a lot about the power of faith, and we should, faith is how we take hold of the promises of God, and that's powerful. But I don't think we talk that much about the price of faith and that can be a problem because I think if we're unprepared to pay the price of faith we're not gonna get the chance.

To experience the power of it. So I wanna talk to you about the power and the price of faith today. Lemme show you what I mean. Why don't you go ahead and grab a Bible, start making your way to Mark chapter five. We're gonna be starting in verse 21 today, mark 5 21, and let me just. Ask God's blessing on our time.

God, thank you for this opportunity to be in a warm building on a cold Colorado day, and we thank you for your word, and we thank you for your spirit that is with us. We pray that your spirit would give us insight into the word that you have given us, that we would walk out of here with a better understanding of what it means to follow you and and serve you and experience everything you have for us in name.

Amen. So Mark 5 21 says Now, when Jesus had gone had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. And I want you to pay attention to that word crowd. It's actually gonna be a word that shows up over and over again in this story, and it's a central part of what's going on in the story.

You may remember a few weeks ago we talked about the fact that you've got a crowd of people around Jesus almost everywhere he goes. But sometimes the people who really need Jesus aren't in the crowd. And you may even remember that we talked about the fact that sometimes people aren't in the crowd because they're afraid of the crowd.
