I. INTRODUCTION
A. Opening Remarks
-Good morning Habitation Church! I am so glad I am here this morning with you all! God has been faithful. Although we could not be with family due to sickness, we were able to spend time with my kiddos and wife and clean that house of ours. Counting it all, Joy! No matter how you spent Thanksgiving, thanks be to God who, through Christ Jesus, allowed us to see another day to thank Him!
This morning, I am thankful! Thank you all in this room and those online for making Habitation your home and being here with us. From the bottom of my heart, we love you so much! Come on, let's give God some praise and thanks!
This morning, I wanted to preach about something else, but the Lord said to continue to Count it all Joy for one more week. So today, I will preach on Count it all Joy: Rejoice, Pray, Discern.
II. MILK: LEARN TO REJOICE IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES
-Philippians 4:4 - "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will repeat it: Rejoice!"
-Psalm 118:24 - "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
-Joy and gladness are fruits of the Spirit, but it must be our decision to express and live by them.
-We must allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in our hearts and teach us how to operate in the fruit of Joy daily.
-A few months ago, I faced a difficult situation with someone close to me.
-A year ago, I reached out to help this person-they rejected it.
-Months later, they came back asking for help, and though I would've declined, the Lord said, "Open the door again."
-It was a good and sour experience. We gave sacrificially, as if they were one of our own children.
-Despite our efforts, it wasn't enough for their standards, and they decided to leave. We supported and financed their decision.
-It hurt, especially the micro-aggressions-but the Lord told us: Rejoice. Count it all joy. Thank me for it.
-We didn't understand it, but we obeyed.
-Joy is not based on understanding-it's based on Who He is and what He doe ...
