We're so excited to have you with us today as we launch a new series called What's Waiting Outside Your Comfort Zone. Anybody have comfort zones, comfort Foods, maybe? Yeah. I got way too many of those. Yeah. We're gonna talk about what's waiting outside your comfort zone.

A few years ago, I came across a quote from Gina, cia. She said, A comfort zone is a beautiful place. But nothing ever grows there. And remember at the time going on that's really good. But honestly, as I've thought about it more over the years, I'm not quite sure I buy it. I'm not quite sure I agree with it.

Definitely the growth part. I think she's absolutely right about the growth part, the beautiful parts. When I have questions about it, I'm not sure that it's actually a beautiful place. 'cause as I think back on my life, I think every truly beautiful thing that I've ever seen or been part of was outside of my comfort zone, right?

Like whether it was asking Kaluta out on our first date, which. That was super uncomfortable because she actually convinced a girl I was dating to break up with me 'cause she thought I was bad news. And so I tried to convince her otherwise, but asking her on the first date, that was a big deal. Or asking her to marry me.

Okay. That was a big deal. That was a little bit outside my comfort zone. Or maybe it was a decision to move to Colorado, leave our family and friends behind, come to this new place. Or maybe it was a decision to to have kids, anybody have kids. It. Did your kids make you more comfortable pro?

Probably not, right? That was outside your comfort zone. But it's a beautiful thing, right? Or are we making the decision seven years ago to become your pastor here at Mission Hills? Outside of my comfort zone, by the way I had a word that the pastor before me, Mike Romberg's in the house. Is that true?
