- We've been studying the book of Leviticus in a series called, You Lost Me at Leviticus. If you know anything about this book, you know why we used this title for the series. The book can be very challenging and confusing. There's a lot of stuff in here that is hard for us to understand. But, we've seen how this often-overlooked book reveals timeless truths about God and His people.

- Tonight, we come to Leviticus 11-15, which focus on purity laws concerning food, health, and cleanliness. While these chapters might seem strange at first, they teach us how God's people are called to be healthy, happy, and holy. Let's face it, this isn't a section of Scripture that gets a lot of attention. It's all about clean and unclean animals, purification rituals, skin diseases, and mildew. Not exactly the stuff you'd choose for a daily devotional, right?

- But here's the truth: God cares deeply about every area of our lives. These chapters teach us how the Israelites were called to live in a way that honored God in their health, happiness, and holiness. And while we may not follow these specific laws today, the principles behind them are timeless. READ Leviticus 11:1-2, 45; 12:7-8; 13:1-2; 15:31

- *When you think about it, these laws are a bit like the instructions on a medicine bottle. Have you ever stopped to read one of those? It can seem a little over the top - "Take with food," "Only use as directed," or "Do not operate heavy machinery." Sometimes, you're tempted to think, "Does it really matter if I follow all of this?" But here's the truth: those instructions aren't there to make life difficult-they're there to protect you. It's the same with God's laws in Leviticus.
