Title: Power Egg (2 of 4)
Series: Easter Eggs
Author: Steve Jones
Text: Ezekiel 36:26, Ephesians 2:1-3
SERMON SUMMARY: In this sermon we consider our POWER Easter egg. Jesus' resurrection affords us spiritual power to live the Christian life.
1) Who needs power?
2) What is the basis of our power?
3) Why is there a power struggle?
4) How do we lean into power?
Introduction: In this sermon series, we're looking at four resurrection "Easter Eggs": hidden treasures related to the resurrection that surprise and delight all of us who are familiar with the "franchise." Toy Story, Pixar's first movie was a huge success in 1995, and it contains an "Easter egg" reference to one of Tim Allen's other famous roles. Allen voices Buzz Lightyear in four Toy Story movies, but during the 1990s he was most well-known as the star of Home Improvement. Tim's Home Improvement character loved POWER tools. Toy Story references the sitcom by showing a toolbox with the brand "Binford Tools," the company that Allen's character works for in Home Improvement (Show the picture).
Today's "Easter egg" is our POWER egg. Spiritual power comes to us from God, courtesy of Jesus' resurrection from the dead.

"Once you were slaves of sin...Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin" (Romans 6:17,19).
The Bible refers to this disability as spiritual DEATH.
Eph.2:1-3 "Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins."
That is a description, from God's perspective, of the pre-Christian condition of every person: spiritual death.
ILLUSTRATION: I'm going to tell you a story that may sound far-fetched, but I assure you it's the truth. I once came face to face with two man-eating lions. These lions were tr ...
