- Maybe the single most offensive Sola to the world around us is ... CHRIST ALONE.

- To a pluralistic world this seems narrow minded. But it's the way that is narrow, not the mind.

- In a culture where we are surrounded with different religions and beliefs, it's important we remember and hold to CHRIST ALONE. - There is no other way to be redeemed, to know God, to be saved ... but through Christ and Him alone.

- In Luther's day you may recall one of the things that were happening were INDULGENCES being sold. - It was being said that paying this could help relieve "temporal punishment" for sin. - Move your dead relative from purgatory to Heaven for X amount.

- Does that sound like Scriptural? Does it sound like grace? Does it sound like faith? Does it sound like salvation in Christ?

- Christ alone reminds us it is Christ and Him alone that bridges the gap wrought by sin between God and man, it is He alone that mediates salvation. It is not a pope, a pastor, the church and its leaders ... it's Jesus.

- For those of us in Christ we must unashamedly hold to this.And we must remember ... Christ alone is our Savior and our Lord ... and we must not be duped by idols in our culture and false saviors.

- It's Christ alone ... not Christ and morality, not Christ and service, not Christ and reputation, not Christ and politics, not Christ and Government, not Christ and career accomplishment, not Christ and affluence. ... it is Christ alone.

- Money, influence, hard work, morality, the government can't save you ... and is not Lord over you. It is Christ and He alone.

- In 1 Timothy Paul is writing to a young apprentice. Timothy is helping establish the church in Ephesus. In chapter 2 Paul encourages prayer for all people.
