- Thursday, October 31 was the 503 anniversary of the Great Reformation. - At NPC we are a protestant church so we share in the rich history of the reformation.

- We are in week 2 of a 5 week study of what is called the Five Solas. These are five key teachings that sprung out of the reformation. Solus Scriptura - Scripture Alone, Solus Gratia - Grace Alone, Solus Fide - Faith Alone, and Solus Deo Gloria - The Glory of God Alone.

- We believe the Scripture are highest authority for faith and practice and that they reveal to us that we can be saved from our sins by God's grace, through faith, in Christ alone and that this salvation is all of God and for His glory alone.

- This is THEOLOGICAL teaching ... but it is my hope we see that theology has practical application for our lives. As we saw last week ... we need the Bible, God's Word, and we need to submit to it. All our decisions should be filtered through it.

- Today we are talking about GRACE ALONE. - It is by God's grace alone that are or can be saved. - Grace is our only hope.

- We live in a pretty graceless society don't we? People can be fairly unforgiving, brutal ... and the general rule is if you want something you've got to earn it.

- The good news of the Bible is though humanity lacks grace ... God is rich in grace. God is a GRACIOUS GOD. That's a good thing because the grace of God is our only hope.

- In Titus 3 the Apostle Paul begins to instruct Titus how to tell people in the church to live in society.

Titus 3:1-2 - Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.

- Good instruction right? He wants Christians to know we should strive not to be a problem in society but strive to be an example as imperfect of an ex ...
