Man, what a fun series so far... Y'all enjoying the life of David?

Saul was made King and disobeyed
Saul has a bad case of partial obedience which we know partial obedience is still disobedience.

David was anointed

God doesn't choose the most qualified-He chooses the most surrendered.

David took out Goliath in the name of the Lord.

Your giants aren't obstacles to defeat you-they're opportunities for God to show His power and fulfill His purpose. Let your faith lead, even when the odds are against you.

Saul's Jealous Heart: Jealousy is the root of misplaced focus, turning hearts away from gratitude and God's purpose.

Jonathan and David's Friendship - Jealousy kills friendships. Selflessness builds them

Today, I want to fast-forward a little... So much happens in David's life that I could preach about it for two years.

We will come back to what we missed in the future but today I want to fast forward in his life to a famous Cave Moment in 1st Samuel 24.

A season of time we could say was David's refining season.

A period when God was shaping him into the king he was called to be.

WORD: Your refining season is not your greatest season but your most needed season for God to prepare you for your next season.

We tend to give the Devil more credit for our refining season than we do the Lord.

God saw that for David to be the King he longed for he had to be refined.

He had to go through the FORGE and get melted down and re-shaped so he could stay faithful w/ the stage he was about to be given.

Let's take a look at this in HISTORY... 7-8 years.

- Jonathan tells David to FLEE (I Samuel 20:42)

- David goes to Ahimelech the priest at Nob - ( Samuel 21:1)

- Ahimelech knows who David is and is afraid b/c he is alone ( Samuel 21:1)

- David lies, saying he is on a secret mission for ...
