When you celebrate, you come into alignment with your walk in God When we celebrate, we come into unity with heaven!
Fasting appears in the bible and it has huge spiritual implications whether it's for repentance, looking for guidance & clarity.
Denying the flesh for a time to focus on the spiritual life we are called to live.
Fasting would be called a discipline...
We see Jesus 40 day fast, Moses fast, Esther calling for Israel to fast...
Pretty important right? Fasting is mentioned about 70 times in the bible!
Do you know that feasting is mentioned almost twice as many times! It must be super important!
We actually are called, commanded....to celebrate & rejoice!
That rejoicing and celebration is a biblical mandate...not just an emotional response.
I'm going to present this morning that even as fasting is a believers discipline....
That celebration and rejoicing is a discipline as well...
And disciplines in our lives are important.
If you want to be healthy, you must have some discipline
If you want to be healthy financially, you must have some discipline
If fact, there are a lot of people with dreams. Dreams without discipline are just imaginations!
Lets read Psalm 100 for us this morning as there is some incredible and dynamic things that we can walk in.
First of all...
Psalm 100:1-5 (ESV)
1Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
2Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
3Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!
5For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
