Today we continue our look into the life of David in a series called Against all Odds...

Saul was made King and disobeyed

Saul has a bad case of partial obedience which we know partial obedience is still disobedience.

David was anointed

God doesn't choose the most qualified-He chooses the most surrendered.

David took out Goliath in the name of the Lord.

Your giants aren't obstacles to defeat you-they're opportunities for God to show His power and fulfill His purpose. Let your faith lead, even when the odds are against you."

We left David talking to Saul....

1 Samuel 18....

NOW... Today we are going to jump around 1 Samuel 18-24 really.

Then we will come back to parts of it again next week.

This week I want to look at the Jealousy of Saul towards David and the lessons we can learn from it.

1 Samual 18:2 [NIV] From that day (The day the giant fell) Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home to his family.

Then something crazy happens...

Aren't you glad God does not show you what tomorrow holds.

Would you serve someone if you knew they were going to turn their back on you?

Would you marry someone if you knew they were going to cheat on you?

Would you take that job if you knew you were going to lose it?

Maybe that is why Jesus said in MT 6:34 [NIV] 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I wonder what David would have done if he knew what was coming.

If he knew his life was about to change for the worst

If he knew the king was about to try to kill him

If he knew he would be on the run for around 15 years

Would he had slayed the Giant if he knew what was coming?

David is w/ Saul on his way back to camp.
