Title: 7 Steps to a Healthy Thought Life (2 of 3)
Series: Healthy

Text: Philippians 4:4-10
At the beginning of every new year, the topic of living a 'healthy' life... seems to be on the forefront of everyone's mind. But if you were to ask most people-How does a person become healthy? -they'll say something like... you've got to lose weight or add muscle or become more active.
And while all of those things may be true... I want you to see that... when the Bible talks about being HEALTHY... it doesn't primarily refer to our body mass index or our cholesterol count or the size and shape of our muscles.
Now, our physical health is, of course, very important. In fact, we talked about that last week. You heard me say: God cares about our physical bodies. Why? Because our body (according to Scripture) is a temple of God.
[1 Cor. 6:19-20] says, 19 Don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought at a price. So glorify God with your body.
Here's what that just said... If you're saved, your body is a temple of God... your body is occupied by God... and your body belongs to God. The Bible says, you are not your own... You were purchased by the blood of Jesus... and the God who saved you, is a God that expects you... to steward your body in a way that glorifies Him.
Your Physical health is very important to God... but when the Bible talks about living a HEALTHY LIFE... that term includes our physical health... but it also encompasses our mental and spiritual health, as well.
In [3 John 2] John wrote to his friend Gaius and said, ""Dear friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and are in good health, just as your whole life is going well." Notice the words he used here. "Prospering in every way... and are in good health... in your whole body."
In this passage, John was praying for his friend to be health ...
