Right Place, Right Time - A God Story
Last night, after my daughter Starr showed me her new fever blister, I immediately started searching for the medicine we have for fever blisters, Anbesol. I knew I had a tube of it in the house, but couldn't find it for anything. The longer I looked the madder I got. I kept up the search for about 30 minutes, at which point it hit me that, "Maybe God needs me at Walgreens for some specific reason."
Since my emotions were already beginning to explode, I didn't exactly leave the house with a good attitude, but I prayed this on the way. God, I don't really feel like doing this (going to Walgreens), but I'm thinking that maybe You have something for me to do at Walgreens.
Help me to go, get what I need and fulfill any mission You may have for me.
I calmed right down and was actually humming by the time I got there - and it's only a few minutes from my house. That's the power of prayer! After I gathered up everything, I was going to buy I headed toward the cash register...while praying again, "God, I want to fulfill whatever you need me to fulfill here." Of, course, I didn't know for sure that God had something specific for me so I was also fine with leaving without 'doing' anything except just getting the medicine.
But God had other plans, as I stood in line to make my purchase, I knew it was the cashier. She was the reason I couldn't find my Anbesol and ended up at Walgreens! I checked out, took my stuff to my car, went back into the store and got back in line. The lady at the cash register looked calm and peaceful, but I sensed in my Spirit that she was fight ...
