Text: Titus 2:1-2

INTRODUCTION

Take your Bibles and turn with me to Titus 2. In just a minute, we'll read and study verses 1 and 2.

Back in May, we started a series of messages that I titled "All in the Family: Milestones of a Living Legacy." During that month, we examined what the Bible says to parents, graduates, and mothers. On Mother's Day, I preached a message based on an acrostic from a pastor in Florida who died in a tragic plane crash back in 2008 named Forest Pollock entitled, "Motherhood Isn't for Sissies."

Well, guys, buckle your pew belts because today is Father's Day, so we're going to reread Titus 2:1-2, and I want us to see what it takes for us Fathers to be "Daring Dads in Dark Days."

- 1965, Moses Lake Washington, he attempted to jump a wooden crate full of rattlesnakes and a tethered mountain lion. He came up short, shattering the crate and freeing the snakes.

- 1967, Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, Knievel attempted to jump over the legendary fountains at Caesars Palace Casino, but the landing was short. He lost grip on the bike's handlebars, tumbled onto the pavement, and skidded 150 feet into the Dunes Casino Parking lot. This jump landed him i ...
