Isaiah 40:3-5 (ESV)

3 A voice cries: "In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain.
5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken."

Luke 3:4-6 (ESV)

4As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
5Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall become straight, and the rough places shall become level ways,
6and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.' "

Advent means "arrival"

Advent in the Christian community is about remembering and celebrating the arrival of Jesus on earth.

When a family is expecting a baby, there is a lot of preparation that goes in beforehand. Rooms are created, colors are picked out, cribs are assembled as an example. Lot of dreams happen and parents step into active vision concerning that child right?

There is a lot of preparation in my house when guests are invited, expected..
In fact, I learned early on not to surprise my wife with unexpected guests as the preparation was super important...It wasn't that the house was always a mess and we just spruced up...She just wanted to set the atmosphere and present the best of what we had for company.
