We are closing out a series today on Transformation.

Week 5- Trials- The one I want to look at this week is most definitely the least popular, and the one that is counter to natural thinking. It's easy to say we see the role of God's Word or community or of course God's Spirit... but this one... some people because they have an unscriptural view find this one hard to swallow.
- Did you know God can use your circumstances to shape you, teach you, and strengthen you? No matter what you are going through. God can do something in your life. God works on us in our high points and our low points, in our prosperity and in our pain. But it seems many times the greatest spiritual growth happens in what we would call negative circumstances.
- Today I want to talk about the pain of trials and our spiritual transformation as believers. If you are not a believer I hope today you will see that being a Christian is not about a pain free life and that how Christians live and respond to trials should point to the validity of the gospel, and that you will let the pain and trials in your own life show us our need for the one who can right all that has gone wrong in our world.
Set Up The Text
- James was the half-brother of Jesus.- He was not a Christian until after the resurrection. We read in the gospels that Jesus brothers weren't believes. After seeing His half-brother alive, after being dead... James was forever changed. He came to believe that his half-brother was in fact God in the flesh. James went on to become a key leader in the early church, and died a martyrs death.
- The book of James- This book he wrote to Jewish Christians who were scattered abroad, many because persecution had scattered them. These are Christians that many have pain their life. Things ar ...
