We live in a world where there doesn't seem to be truth anywhere?

Illus: Darwin and Evolution.

Evolution is now being taught as fact not theory and yet no discovery has changed anything since the days I went to school.

The philosophy of today is that if I tell a lie long enough it will become the truth!

It seems hard to navigate life with this world of deception.

Isaiah 59:14-16 NLT

Our courts oppose the righteous,
and justice is nowhere to be found.
Truth stumbles in the streets,
and honesty has been outlawed.Yes, truth is gone,
and anyone who renounces evil is attacked.

What is truth?

The word truth is derived from Old English, means:

- accuracy, correctness, faithfulness, loyalty, fidelity, and veracity.

- a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle.


Jesus prayed for us because He knew the deception of the enemy of our souls.

He said of Satan that he was the father of lies! John 8:44

He called Him a deceiver!

John 17: 14-19 NLT

14 I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. 15 I'm not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one... 16 They do not belong to this world any more than I do 17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth...

We as believers have three anchors in this tumultuous world!

But the psalmist talks about God being our rock!

Psalm 18:2 NLT

2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me,
and my place of safety.
