INTRODUCTION

Take your Bibles this morning and find your place at Luke chapter 2 one last time. This morning we'll be concluding our very simple series of sermons for the Christmas season entitled, "The Gift of Christmas."

I really hope you've enjoyed our study so far, and I pray that you've been encouraged as we've seen that:

- Christmas is a gift worth waiting for.

- Christmas is a gift worth giving.

- Christmas is a gift worth receiving.

And this morning as we conclude this simple series of sermons, I want to share with you why Christmas is a gift worth sharing.

Now, in some ways, there are some people who share too much . . .

Illustration: There were several guys who had been working out together at a private club and they were in the locker room getting cleaned up when all of a sudden, a cell phone on one of the benches and one of the guys picks it up and the conversation went something like this:

"Hello?"

"Hey, Honey."

"Hey, Sweetie."

"Are you at the club?"

"Yeah, I'm just getting cleaned up."

"Great. Well, listen, I'm out doing some Christmas shopping and I found the most beautiful mink coat that I've ever seen. Can I buy it?"

"How much is it?"

"It's only $7,000.00"

"No problem, go ahead and get it if you like it that much."

"Ahhhh, you're so sweet. And also, when I was driving towards the store I happened to stop by the Mercedes dealership and they're having a Christmas sale on the new models that are coming in and I looked at several of them and there's one that I really, really like and the salesman said he'd give me a good deal on it, and you know, we're going to have to get rid of that BMW that we got last year anyway . . ."

"How much does he want for it?"

"He said that we can get it for $65K flat."

"Okay, but for that price I want him to make sure that it's got all of the options. ...
