Introduction: Take your Bibles this morning and turn with me to the 22nd chapter of Luke's gospel. This morning, we are beginning what I believe could very well be one of the most important, significant, and impactful series of studies I've preached in my nearly 12 years as your pastor.
Three weeks from today we will gather for worship as a church family at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center to celebrate the most important, significant, and impactful event in history - the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

That's why, this morning, I want us to begin a four-part series of messages on what led up to, and what happened on, that first Easter Sunday morning that I'm entitling, "Risen: From the Upper Room to the Empty Tomb."

If you were to go with me on one of my trips to the Holy Land, one of the places we'd go is to the Mount of Olives. It's a little mountain - a limestone ridge, really, that's about a mile long - just east of the old city of Jerusalem. It sits about 300 feet above that ancient city, and 2700' above sea level.
And if you were to go with me, one of the things that we'd probably do is get off the bus at the top of that mountain, take a few pics ...
