ONLY ONE OPINION COUNTS
An umpire named Babe Pinelli once called Babe Ruth out on strikes. When the crowd booed with disapproval, the legendary Ruth turned to the umpire and said, "How could you call that a strike? There are 40,000 people here who are of the opinion that the last pitch was a ball!"
The cool-headed umpire replied, "That may be true, but my opinion is the only one that counts. Take a seat."
One of the things we learn in Revelation is that God's opinion is the one that counts. The one who created the world and redeemed the world has the right to END the world if we do not repent! Revelation 16:7 says "Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and just are your judgments."
Mankind has been on the opposite side of God since the fall of Adam and Eve, with only his grace and his mercy shielding us from his impending wrath. One only has to read the opening chapters of Genesis to see the evil within the heart of man and the love in the heart of God.
Rather than killing off man, God killed an innocent animal, whereby he covered man's sinfulness. In time we see things get so bad that he had to send forth a worldwide flood, though he graciously saved eight souls on his ark of mercy and grace, but in this chapter, the full-fledged wrath of God is unleashed.
