INTRODUCTION
Take your Bibles this morning and turn with me to Acts chapter 11. This morning we're going to begin a three-part series of studies that I believe God will use to encourage and help you to become the committed, faithful, generous Christian God wants you to be.
If you're new to Abilene, one of the things we do every single year is we take the month of February and focus on our responsibility and privilege as Christians to be committed and consistent and contagious in the area of our stewardship and finances.

Example: I saw a sign that's on the hallway that leads from the locker room at Neyland Stadium that has an outline of the state of Tennessee with the words, "I will give my all for Tennessee today." And as those football players exit the locker room to go out on the field they will jump up and slap that sign as a way of signifying their commitment to give their all and leave it all on the field.

- If we can do that for a football game;
- If we can do that for our hobby;
- If we can do that for so many of the things in our lives - things that don't really matter in eternity - then how much more should we be intentional and sacrificial and generous with the stuff - the finances, money and material things that God has blessed us with and entrusted into our care?
So, here's what I want to do this morning in this first sermon: I want to be really personal, biblical and practical. I want to talk to you for a few minutes about "Godly Giving" and I want to share with you some simple lessons on biblical stewardship. I want us to learn from the Bible what God has to say about the right and righteous use of mone ...
