Title: Don't Hit The Snooze Button (2 of 3)
Series: A Closer Look at the Book: JOEL

Text: Joel 2

Researchers in Sweden found that hitting that little "snooze button" on your alarm is actually beneficial to a person's sleep. The average length of the "snooze" is 9 minutes, and the average sleeper hits the "button" 3 times, which averages a total of 27 minutes.

They found that those who went back to sleep, between each "snooze," didn't fall into a "deep" sleep; thus, when they woke up, they weren't yanked out of a 'hard,' or 'heavy' sleep, but it led to a more 'gentle' awakening. As a result, the "snoozers" had a greater cognitive awareness than the "non-snoozers."

There are mornings when that snooze button is my best friend; there are mornings when it is my worst enemy.

As it relates to the things of God, we are often guilty of hitting our spiritual snooze button, ignoring the alarm that God has set off.
