Title: Take God at His Word
Text: Isaiah 55:11
Author: Darrow Perkins

INTRODUCTION: It's been said that a person's word is their bond. If they don't keep their word, then they don't have anything. Let me ask a question: How many times have people you their word that they will do such-and-such, only to leave you disappointed when they didn't come through for you? This is an event or occasion that has taken place probably in the lives of all of us who have put our faith or trust in a person. Here's what I'm getting at:

- They probably said they would be there for you;

- They probably said don't worry about what time of day or night it is to call them;

- They probably said "I've got your back;" or

- They probably said, "I'll be there no matter what."

When they said it, you probably took their word for it and when you tried it for yourself, you found out in that particular instance, they didn't live up to their word. Can I get a witness???

In this age of technology and the information superhighway, if you want to find out something about anything, you can go to the Internet and find out the latest news updates, the latest gossip, the latest rumors, or the most up to date facts on a particular subject. The information, however, will only be as reliable as the source that put it out there. I would submit to you today that the Word of God is the most reliable source found on the planet! Proverbs 30:5 says, "Every word of God is pure; he is a shield to them that trust him." Our adversary, the devil, has been working to deceive people for thousands of years and does not want us to believe that God's Word has the potential to live up to the power it possesses. He's taken the word and twisted it so that people won't believe that what God has said is exactly what He means, and whatever He has promised He will make it happen just like He said He would. I want to encourage us today that you can...Take God At His Word!!
