INTRODUCTION: Everybody has some kind of giants in their lives. I believe too many times we perceive a giant to be something bigger than life and therefore we immediately become defeated by it because we think it's a force greater than we are. The American Heritage Dictionary defines the word giant as "a person or great size, power, or importance; a humanlike being of enormous strength and stature." I've learned that a giant does not have to be a person, but it could be something else you're dealing with. Let me ask a question...what kind of giants do you have in your life right now?
- Maybe your giant is a personal giant? Maybe there's somebody in your life that is always at you about something; no matter what you do, it's never enough and they are never satisfied; they get on your last nerve; they are always right and want you to feel like you are always wrong; they try to make you feel like they are better than you in all aspects of life.
- Maybe your giant is an addiction giant? Maybe you're having problems with drugs, alcohol, pornography, lust, gambling - you just can't seem to get enough of what it is that has a hold on you. This giant seems to be after you all the time and you feel too weak to fight it or defeat it.
- Maybe your giant is a financial giant? Society wants us to believe that we're in the midst of a recession and yes a lot of people have been affected with the loss of jobs, homes and personal possessions. You find yourself where it seems like there's more month than money and you're at your wits end. You're "robbing Peter to pay Paul" and both of them are still not satisfied.
- Maybe your giant is a church giant? You want to give God the praise and glory due His name, but you're concerned about how people will look at you; you want to "let go and let God" but you've been told it don't take all that; you want to "shout unto God with the voic ...
