Building Your Faith for Life's Problems

1 Corinthians 2:5
INTRODUCTION: Life is no joke! When you realize all that happens, all that takes place, all that comes at you, and all that is required of you, you can quickly understand that there's a lot of things that needs to be done just to stay ahead of life. What's real is that life is actually bigger than all of us, and we need to tap into a power source that can help us deal with the problems of life.
The apostle Paul here is addressing some of the concerns in the church in Corinth. He was making them aware of the fact that people can come at you with very smooth words, can be very persuasive in what what they say, but you can't hold to the words and the wisdom of men. People, for the most part, will tell you what you (1) want to hear; or (2) what they want to tell you. The problems with the wisdom and words of man is that they are fleeting, they may sound good for a minute, and may even appear to be practical, but in the end, they don't stand up to nor compare to what God has for us.
The word of God gives us hope; the word of God gives us peace; the word of God gives us faith to hold out and to keep on keeping on. It is the word of God that reveals to us the power of God and there is no power like God's power. If we're going to effectively deal with life's problems, we need to power of God behind us to help us make it on a daily basis. I want to talk about Building Your Faith for Life's Problems.
