There's Power in His Name

Psalm 8:1

When you think of the name Jesus, I believe it should bring about reflection as it relates to all the things He's already done for us. The truth of the matter is, in many cases, we've taken Him for granted as we tend to think of Him as a "gofer." In prayer, we may say things like "go to the hospital rooms," or "go behind prison bars" and not realize that because He's Omnipresent, He's already in all of those locations at the same time. Our prayer should be, "Lord, while you're there, heal, deliver, and set the captives free." I just think sometimes we don't truly consider who He is and the awesome power He yields.

The Bible has many passages of scripture that gives us a better and clearer understanding to the power of the Lord Jesus and the very mention of His name. We're told that men feared Him because of His heavenly power and authority - even to the point of wanting to kill Him because they felt threatened. You can say or use the name of Allah, Mohammad, Buddha, or any other false god in any large group setting without receiving any retribution or push back, but as soon as you call out the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, people have a problem with that. Even to the point that in some functions, you can't pray and end the prayer "in Jesus Name," all because they don't want to offend anybody ...
