If you have your Bible, please turn to Romans chapter 12. I want to talk about this subject: "How Can I Know God's Will For My Life." Now, I think that question is a question that all of us have asked at one time or another. I remember when I was a senior in high school, the big issue was, where are you going to go to college? And so, I didn't give that a tremendous amount of thought. I just said, "What's the biggest school in Texas? I'll go to that one." And so, I went to the University of Texas. The standards were high back then in 1980. You had to be in the top 50% of your class and get at least an 800 on the SAT. I got a 940 and I made it in. Today you got to be in like the top 8% or something like that, so no way would I ever get in. But at that time you could get in, and it was fairly cheap. That major decision was kind of out of the way. And then I became a Christian my senior year in high school, started to really grow in college, and then when it came to my senior year in college, then I began to think and pray about, well, what does God have for me? What does He want me to do with my life? I was praying about the ministry and never felt like the Lord had called me to do that at that time. So, I went back home to Houston and got involved at Champion Forest Baptist Church, and got a job, and was working selling pipe couplings. And then I met Debbie, and we got married and started having kids. And, I changed jobs a couple of times and was working in the chemical industry, as many of you know. And after a few years of that, I was doing well. I was getting promoted and making sales, but I was very restless. And so, here I was in my early 30s, and we had three kids, and I had a mortgage and expenses, and a good-paying job, and I started to think, is this all that God has for me?
