Text: Ephesians 2:8-10

Have you heard of Biosphere 2? It's an earth science research facility in AZ. built to discover the impact of climate change and to study the viability of a closed ecological system to support human life in space.

After the facility was built an interesting event occurred - the trees they planted grew way faster than they would've in the wild, yet they never reached maturity. Instead, when they got to a certain size, the splintered/collapsed b/c they were too weak to support themselves. Scientists learned that due to a lack of wind/stress inside the biosphere, the trees were unable to develop the necessary stress wood to mature.

SEE - when trees grow in the wild, the wind keeps them constantly moving placing stress on the load-bearing parts of the tree. To compensate, a tree grows stress wood. This stress wood has a different cellular density from the rest of the tree that strengthens it.
