Now we could do 2 more in John 6....
Jesus is with you in the storm!!! - JESUS is Better!!!
But I am going to fast fwd to a long passage but we will fly through it today.
JESUS has just fed the 5,000
Walked on Water - John does not include Peter getting out of the boat. Only Matthew included Peter.
Then some of the people started to look for him. Followers that probably were following him around.
Remember he left because they were trying to make him a political candidate.
So now we pick up when they show up...
John 6:25-60 [NIV] 25 When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?"
26 Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.
Jesus simply confronts them b/c he knows their true intent on finding him.
Jesus is challenging them on the real reason they are looking for him.
You are pretending you are excited I am here but really it is b/c of the miracles you just saw.
Jesus is asking do you want to FOLLOW me or be a FOLLOWER of mine?
The difference in a FOLLOWER of JESUS vs FOLLOWING Jesus around.
FOLLOWERS follow no matter what.
