A few weeks ago, I began a sermon series called, Growing Up! I want to encourage you to grow in your Christian life. As followers of Jesus, it's essential that we grow spiritually. How does that happen? Well, the Bible tells us that God has giving you Everything You Need for Growth. You might not believe it, but it's true. If you are God's child, you have everything you need to grow in your faith.
Here's why we're talking about spiritual growth. Sunday, September 8th, is Grow Sunday at Second. On that day, I'm asking every single person to participate in a Life Group at 9:00 AM. You may not know where to go or what to do, but you can go to the lobby after our service and someone will be there to answer any questions you may have.
If you're still confused when everything is said and done, you can join me in the Family Life Center at 9:00 AM next Sunday and I'll have a Life Group just for you at that time. Remember, we've got spots for every age, stage, and phase of life.
Today, we're studying 2 Peter 1:2-9 and we see an incredible promise. If you are a follower of Jesus, God has given you Everything You Need for Growth. READ TEXT
*Every once in a while, I enjoy a small construction project. I like working with my hands. Maybe fixing something that's broken, building a fence, or putting things together. Like many people, I order items off Amazon that sometimes require assembly. When I open the instructions, they usually tell me what I need to put the item together. Some instructions even show pictures of a drill, a tape measure, a level, and other items under a heading that says something like, "Items Needed for Assembly." At other times, however, the instructions pleasantly surprise me and say something like, "All items necessary for assembly are included." And underneath will be a picture of an Allen wrench, a template, or some other item ...
