When you hear that word, SECURITY... what image pops into your mind? Maybe you think about a security guard... or a home security system... or perhaps when you think about personal security, your mind goes to carrying a gun or learning how to defend yourself. A while back, I was reading my Bible and came across a verse that said: [Prov. 3:26 NLT] "For the LORD is your security."
When I initially read that verse, this was honestly my thought process: I read, "The LORD is your security" and I thought... Yeah, that's true... Jesus is always there and He has our back... but when it comes to being safe and secure, we've also got to take matters into our own hands sometimes... and do some things to create security for ourselves and for our families!
...And as soon as that thought popped into my mind, I realized... 'wait a second... that's a lie'. That's lie the devil wants me to believe. He wants me to believe that Jesus, alone, cannot give me the security I need. He wants me to believe that Jesus can't provide that for me... but that I can. (that's the way the devil works)
In the same way the Devil wants us to believe lies regarding things like... hope and joyand peace (and where these things comes from)... In the same way He works so hard, indoctrinating our culture with lies related to gender and marriage and love. We've got to understand... The devil is the author of confusion... and the last thing he wants... is for us to believe the truth about 'who God is' and what He can do.
The truth is... Jesus is the source for everything we need... the word of God says that,and the devil knows that... but his job is to convince us that we don't need Jesus... and that's simply not true.
We just read that the LORD is our security. Which means-He alone has the capacity and ability to protect us and provide for us and keep us safe... That word "security" means ...
