We are in the business of building whole people, strong families, a vibrant church, and a prosperous community. Healthy things grow.
This is the core value I want to unpack this morning as we continue in the series.
It's hard to boil down what this means in just a simple statement as it has so many ramifications.
God is a builder and he has put that "builder" DNA in us if you will.
I think it's very telling that when Jesus came to dwell on earth that he was a carpenter. A builder. Could have been something totally different.
Hebrews 3:4 (NKJV)
4For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.
From children building things out of Lincoln logs, legos, mud forts, sandcastles or jumps...there is something in us to build.
Anyone remember building a house out of popsicle sticks?
I'm absolutely astonished at the capabilities in mankind to build, to create, to innovate...People spend large amounts of money and time on vacations to go see....what others have built!
Mankind has been given the ability to imagine, innovate and then make what is on paper...reality in stick and steel. Foundations, structure and finish. We build things, businesses, enterprise etc.
Have you ever recognized that every invention starts first with the imagination? With thoughts? And I believe that God inspires those thoughts and dreams.
Have you ever thought of an invention for example, didn't do anything about it...and then maybe years later you see it advertised?

3Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established;
There are so many different ways we could unpack this core value but I want to bring us back to the big idea here and simplify it.
The dream of Jesus is to build his church, his house, and we have that DNA inside of us as we come together in community.
