Do you have any "go to" bible verses? I'm talking about verses you look to again and again, that give you strength and encouragement, verses that bring comfort in times of difficulty. For example, in times of sickness your "go to" verses may include Exodus 15.26, "For I am the LORD who heals you." Another one may be Psalm 103.3, "He forgives all your iniquity; He heals all your diseases."

What about in times of doubt? A good "go to" verse could include Romans 10.9, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" and verse 13, "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

What about in times of fear? The prophet Isaiah provides a wonderful "go to" verse in chapter 41.10, "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand." Friend, don't ever think you're holding on to God; God is holding on to you!

What about in times of worry? Paul provides us with a "go to" verse we need to include in our arsenal in Philippians 4.6-7, "Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

Two of my "go to" verses when sin creeps into my life is 1 John 1.9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say, 'We have not sinned,' we make him a liar; and his word is not in us." And from King David in Psalm 51.1-2, "Be gracious to me, God, according to your faithful love; according to your abundant compassion, blot out my rebellion. Completely wash away my guil ...
