Psalm 133:1-3 (NASB95)

1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity!
2It is like the precious oil upon the head, Coming down upon the beard, Even Aaron's beard, Coming down upon the edge of his robes.
3It is like the dew of Hermon Coming down upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing-life forever.

The concept and principle of unity is so strong in the bible that it would take weeks to unpack it.

There is a supernatural "heaven meets earth" that we will unpack this morning concerning unity.

There are practical things, action steps if you will that we can do, but also spiritual elements that are in play because of the importance of it.

In John 17 it was part of the prayer of Jesus for his disciples

John 17:11 "11"I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are.

The testimony of the New Testament was that these disciples that Jesus was praying for "turned the world upside down" and they did it with unity.

The world today is being turned upside down with division and dis- unity...
Where God wants to turn the world upside down with unity (His very character within the Trinity is unity)

The devil wants to turn the world upside down with dis-unity, division.
God's desire is to bring unity of relationship between himself and mankind...
If you were to describe our country today it would include 'land of the free, the brave, beauty, opportunity, diversity, equality etc...

What you could not use is the word unity.

In fact the descriptor would be divided.

We live in an incredibly divisive culture and world....and I don't think I need to convince anyone here this morning that is the truth right?!
