A fellow Sci-Fi enthusiast egghead in the church gave me a "cool and thoughtful" gift recently. It is a 3,000+ piece "Lego" set of the jedi temple from Star Wars. This thing is huge. The entire family has been working on it this week but for one member of the family it has been challenging. I'll let you figure out who that person is on your own...You guessed it! I am not a "Lego" master just a mere rookie, a padawan if you will.
Combine my general inability to comprehend and follow basic instructions, failing eyesight and fat fumbling fingers, along with small, tiny objects and you have a recipe for "Lego" disaster and frustration.
- My sweet Jordan got so flustered trying to explain why I was wrong in my interpretation of the instructional diagrams that I thought she was going to throw the instruction book at me!
- If you don't align all those little knobby connectors just right or put the exact piece exactly where it is supposed to go it creates a lot of problems later on.
- Things won't fit. They won't connect. Things won't hold together.
- One piece connects to the next piece and each one contributes to the whole.
What's true with Legos is true with life. What's true with Legos is true in the Church. What's true with Lego's is true with our faith.
- All the different parts and pieces connect.
- All the different parts and pieces contribute to the whole.
- If all the parts and pieces are not connected or connected properly, things won't hold together nor function as they are designed.
