The 2 Reminders as we do this series....
1. You are not saved by obeying the 10 commandments or following them. You can do nothing to earn your salvation. It is a free gift through Jesus that you must choose to accept.
2. None of us get them all right all the time
We have done:
1. No other gods
2. No Idols
3. Not speak God's name in Vain
4. Sabbath
Today "Honor thy father and mother"
Now Parents hear this and they go YES!!!

Texting your kid now - LISTEN.
Before you get too excited for just your kid to hear it we need to understand this text fully because it is for all of us.
It is for the ?Parents (who are kids of someone)
Kids - We are all kids - we will unpack even as "adult" kids what this text means as it is written to the Adults.
Those who have been Adopted
You say I come from Abuse, Drunkenness in my home, violence, etc.. is this for me...YES
This one will challenge all of us and encourage all of us.

But I do want to challenge you today from God's word on Parenting and Raising Kids.

Ex 20: 12 [NIV] "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
Paul said it this way: Eph 6:1-3 [NIV] 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.2 "Honor your father and mother"-which is the first commandment with a promise- 3 "so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
