I heard about a young pastor. Years ago, I heard about this guy, and he was a
new preacher at his church. He had just begun his sermon, and ten minutes into it his
mind went blank. That's a preacher's worst nightmare. And as his mind went blank, he didn't know what to do, and he just had that "deer in the headlights" look. And then he remembered what he was taught in seminary. And in seminary, they taught him, "Listen! If you go blank in a sermon, just repeat whatever you said previously, the line before that, and hopefully, that will get you going." And so, he said, "All right, I'm going to do that." He's having this conversation with himself, you know. And the thing he had said last was, quoted Scripture, Revelation 22:12, "Behold, I am coming quickly." And so, he said, "Behold, I am coming quickly." And he was thinking, nothing, still nothing. So he said it with more gusto, "Behold, I am coming quickly." And he couldn't remember what the next part was, and so he said it with even more gusto, and he took a step forward, "Behold, I am coming quickly." And when he did, he stumbled and lost his balance and he fell off the platform onto a lady in the front row, and he is apologizing profusely. And she said, "No, really, pastor, it's my fault. You told me three times you were coming!"

Well, Jesus said, in the last book of the Bible, Revelation chapter 22, that, "Behold, I am coming quickly." And that means suddenly. And the Bible tells us that we need to be ready for the Lord's return. James 5:8, "You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near." Now, we don't know when the Lord is coming. We know that the Lord has told us just to be ready. "You don't know when I'm coming, so be ready. The Son of Man comes at an hour when you do not think He will."
