If you have your Bible, please turn to the Book of Judges, Judges chapter 4. I've entitled the message, "The Difference Maker."

Now, today is a special day with today being Mother's Day. And, as the Lord put this all together, I'm preaching this morning on Deborah. She is a mother in Israel. And so, we are going to learn lessons from the life of Deborah, one of the greatest mothers who ever lived.

Now, I think that being a mom is one of the hardest, if not the hardest jobs on the planet, especially when your kids are little. And so, I experienced that with my wife Debbie when our kids were little. And I remember when I was working in the chemical business, I told her one day, "I don't feel very well. I think I'm going to stay home today." She said, "Great! You can help me." I said, "I think I'd better go in." It's just tough being a mom, especially a stay-at-home mom with little kids, so very tough, but so worthwhile.

Now, I heard, some years ago a teacher that was teaching little ones, and she was talking about moms. And she asked the question to her class, and here were some of the responses:

First question: What ingredients are mothers made of? One little student said, "They had to get their start from men's bones, then they mostly used string, I think." So, men's bones and string.

What kind of a little girl was your mom? One of the students answered this way: "I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be she's pretty bossy."

How about this one? How did your mom meet your dad? "Mom was working in a store, and dad was shoplifting." Poor dad.

Why did your mom marry your dad? "My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world, and my mom eats a lot."
