INTRODUCTION: I am confident that there won't be any perils on the Carenet Walk for Life. No booby traps. No wild animals. No dangerous detours. No bad guys waiting in ambush. But there ARE perils for the preborn babies. The leading cause of death in America is abortion, at one million deaths per year. That far outpaces heart disease and cancer, numbers two and three. And abortion is the leading cause of death in the world, accounting for 44 million victims in 2023. The most dangerous place for a baby to be is in her mother's womb. So, while we laugh, celebrate, and embrace the Walk for Life - we remember that the cause is just.

?Our Journey with Jesus IS a PERILOUS journey(review). Jesus told a parable in Luke 8 to illustrate our perilous journey and what to do about it.

Luke 8:5-8 "A farmer went out to plant his seed. As he scattered it across his field, some seed fell on a footpath, where it was stepped on, and the birds ate it. Other seed fell among rocks. It began to grow, but the plant soon wilted and died for lack of moisture. Other seed fell among thorns that grew up with it and choked out the tender plants. Still other seed fell on fertile soil. This seed grew and produced a crop that was a hundred times as much as had been planted!" When he had said this, he called out, "Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand."

?What a terrifying description - IF you happen to be the PLANTS in the story - which we ARE. The plants get stepped on, eaten by birds, killed by dehydration, scorched by heat, and choked by thorns. Only 25% of these plants, one in four, survive.
