1.0 Many People Looked to Jesus for a Better Life.

1.1 The Bible makes a distinction of the people.

A) Some in the crowd were curious and skeptical. Others were undisciplined converts and yet others fell into the top category of being disciples.

1. They all wanted to know what the future holds for them.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)-"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

2. God has plans for us. The disciple, who is a disciplined follower of Jesus, wanted to know God's will for their life.

i. Where should I live? Whom should I marry?

ii. Should I start a business? Should I change jobs or stay put?

iii. Should I get a divorce from my hurting marriage? Should I get married to the person I'm seeing?

B) Disciples realize that to walk with God you must live in submission to Him and His will. To help you accomplish this goal I will answer four questions today:
1. What Does God's Will Mean?

2. Why is God's Will Important?

3. How Do I Discover God's Will?

4. How Do I Reconnect with God's Will?

2.0 DISCOVERING God's Will for Your Life is Possible.

2.1 What does "God's Will" mean?

A) It is God's plan, intention, desires, and will for your life.

Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)-"1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.

1. Choosing to walk with Jesus means that you'll not conform to this world. You will not allow this world's thinking to bend you into its mold.
