ILLUS.- Light bulbs are extremely fragile, and they don't last forever. You never seem to know when one will go out. But you know, what you don't do? You don't take a bulb and hide it in the sock drawer. It makes no sense. No, you put it where its supposed to be and you use it until it burns out. --- In a similar manner... life is fragile... things change, bad things happen, people hurt you... and ultimately life here ends... BUT LIVE AND LIVE FULLY. Don't be on a shelf.

It's my hope as you walk through this today you will be challenged to live fully, embrace living your fragile life FULLY.

Life is fragile. It's brief. Things change. We are breakable. This is the reality of a fallen world. But life is good, its a gift from God, and it though it is fragile and brief... it needs to be lived fully and in light of who God is. --- This is a common theme in Ecclesiastes.

[1] But all this I laid to heart, examining it all, how the righteous and the wise and their deeds are in the hand of God. Whether it is love or hate, man does not know; both are before him.

The writer looks out at life and sees that God is sovereign.

- God's hand is never off the wheel.

- Nothing surprises God. Nothing ruins his ultimate purposes.

We don't know what tomorrow holds. Righteous people, wise people, experience both good times and bad times.

- EX.- Some people believe that if you love God and have faith you'll be healthy and wealthy. This is both practically inaccurate and theologically wrong.

- We don't serve a God that spare us from all the bad things, but One who chooses to walk with us through the bad things and promises to in the end cause all things to work for the good of His children.
